Ufa on track for SCO and BRICS summits

On October 28, a delegation of the Organising Committee for the Russian Federation's Presidency in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in 2014-2015 and the BRICS Group in 2015, led by Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov, visited the city of Ufa.

Delegation members, accompanied by Bashkortostan's Head Rustem Khamitov, inspected infrastructure facilities that will be used during the summits, in particular Ufa airport and a number of hotels that will accommodate the heads and representatives of SCO member states, observers, and dialogue partners, as well as the leaders of the BRICS countries, and representatives of states and international organisations.

Members of the Organising Committee also visited the Ufa Congress Hall, where the main events of the SCO and BRICS summits will be held, and the Bashkir State Opera and Ballet Theatre, which will host a reception and concert in honour of the BRICS summit participants.

Work on all facilities is on schedule, with no delays. Representatives of the Russian Presidential Administration stressed the need to remain on schedule moving forward.

"There is probably no better place in Russia than Ufa to host the international SCO and BRICS summits. We will give the member states' delegations the best welcome we can," Khamitov assured members of the Organising Committee.
