Sergei Shoigu: It is necessary to develop relations with SCO and CSTO countries

In 2015, it is necessary to pay special attention to the development of the relationships with countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO), Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said at an expanded meeting of the Defence Ministry Collegium which Russian President Vladimir Putin attended.

In addition, the Minister spoke about the need to continue cooperation with the CIS and Latin American countries, as well as to implement new projects with the armed forces of China, India and some countries in South-East Asia and the Arab world.

During the meeting, Mr. Shoigu also ordered that work be completed on concluding intergovernmental agreements that would allow Navy ships to make a simplified approach to the ports of eight foreign states.
